Like most benefits within a travel insurance policy, exclusions apply to the Baggage Loss benefit. Most policies have a “per article” limit of around $250 or $200 per item that applies. There is typically an aggregate limit of $500 – $600 for computers, cameras, jewelry, fur, etc. Property generally not covered includes animals, artificial limbs, false teeth, glasses, hearing aids, tickets, keys, money and any loss resulting from rodents, insects or vermin. It is always recommended to review the policy for the full details prior to purchase.
