What is meant by "home country" coverage on my travel medical policy?

Many travel medical insurance policies provide cover Home Country Coverage for incidental trips that you make to your home country. Coverage is usually pro-rated at approximately 5 days per month for each month insured.  Some polices require a 3 month minimum purchase and some require the purchase of a rider for an additional premium. When this cover is offered, the sickness or accident must occur while in your home country.  You usually can not travel home for the purpose of receiving medical treatment.  Lower limits can apply for this coverage as well. Refer to the policy wording for full details of the coverage.
