Most comprehensive travel insurance policies cover trip interruption. Trip interruption benefits pay a partial payment in the event that you are prevented from completing the trip as scheduled because of reasons such as those covered for trip cancellation (i.e. illness, death or other unforeseen covered circumstances). The benefit amount will provide reimbursement for unused non-refundable trip payments and deposits as well as benefits to help cover return to your original destination, or so that you can rejoin your trip.
