How to Deal With Baggage Delay

A recent article from MSNBC discussed how to deal with baggage delay.

“If your bags are delayed, try not to panic. The airlines typically have ways to track them, and about 98 percent of all misplaced luggage is returned eventually. If your bags are on the next flight, you could have them within a few hours. If they’ve been sent to the wrong airport, it could take a couple of days.”

Travel insurance helps travelers avoid some of the stress when they arrive at a destination before their luggage.  Baggage delay coverage can reimburse the traveler for some of the essential items that are in their luggage and not with them.  There is normally a set amount of time that must pass from when the bags were supposed to arrive before the benefit is available.  There may also be a daily dollar limit as well as an overall policy dollar limit.  Always refer to the certificate of insurance for details.
