Generally, travel insurance policies require that you insure your trip from the date you depart your place of residence until the date you return to your place of residence. Some policies will allow you to ensure from date of departure for a lesser number of days than your entire trip with your policy terminating on the earlier of when you return home or the end date you chose at purchase.
