Leading travel insurance provider Access America has unveiled a new product to protect summer skiers and snowboarders.
The Season Pass Protector is a travel insurance policy that prevents unforeseen emergencies from breaking the bank, even if they dash vacation plans.
Pivotally, the travel insurance cover allows skiers and snowboarders to protect their investment in a season pass lift ticket, which can cost thousands of dollars.
Sports fans can claim reimbursement if they are denied access to the pistes they’ve paid for, either due to illness or injury, jury duty, employment issues, or because they need to care for a family member, or return home to deal with a domestic emergency such as a flood or fire.
“Escaping out on to the slopes is something skiers and boarders anticipate all year,” said Beth Godlin, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Access America.
“Season Pass Protector is a new product we’ve designed to offer them peace of mind as they make the financial commitment to purchase a season pass.”
The travel insurance policy includes medical transportation cover worth up to $50,000 and as much as $100 towards the cost of replacing a lost lift pass card.
