Brits hoping to travel across the Atlantic and find a job in the US will be buoyed by news that the country produced over 180,000 new jobs last month.
Unemployment in America is also at its lowest for five years, 4.4 per cent, continuing recent momentum in the job market, according to government figures.
The number of vacancies that are opening up for foreigners with visitor insurance in the States makes job hunting across the pond an appealing prospect, not least since salaries are also on the up.
Federal statistics indicate that hourly pay rose by four per cent in the 12 months since March last year to $17.22 an hour, up from $16.55.
“The fact of the matter is the job market is very, very healthy,” MFR chief economist Joshua Shapiro told the New York Times.
Retail businesses added 35,900 jobs, ahead of health care service providers, doctor’s offices and hospitals, which added 29,500 and educational establishments, which provided 15,800 new positions.
Construction jobs accounted for 56,000 of the 180,000 new roles, while restaurants and bars hired an extra 19,000 new workers.
