June 1st is the official start of hurricane season. Travel insurance can help relieve some of the stress that a storm brings to a vacation. Trip cancellation and interruption can cover the guest in the event of a complete cessation of either a common carrier or travel supplier. Coverage can also extend if the accommodation at the destination is rendered uninhabitable by weather. Travel delay can apply in the event of a mandatory evacuation. It is important to remember that all travel insurance policies sold after a storm is named, will not cover that named storm. Always refer to the certificate of coverage for specific details.
